The Gallic-Vulcan Mining Property is a productive, but very targeted gold mine located in the higher reaches (above 10,000’) of the Galena Mining District.

The portals on the property have been collapsed by Forest Service Agencies and will require permitting and rehabilitation to be re-opened. The work will likely prove to be well worth the effort as the mine is known for production of native gold from “sugary” or decomposed quartz. There is also reported good value in the Silver and Galena found throughout the claim.

 

There is an old mining road that breaks across Henson Creek and leads back to the main camp and mill site. The foundations and some structures are still standing but the mill is overall unusable.

There are remnants of at least 2 adits and many small shafts and prospects. The main drift workings as historically described are located directly west of the mill site.

Surveyors reported an expectation of a silver producing mine, but the site showed more gold values than was seen in Silver. Roughly 60lbs of waste dump and 25lbs of tailings were removed for assays.

 

The mine is a large property that has extensive potential for development, this potential will hinge on the claim owners ability to re-open the workings and stabilize the same so that the underground workings can be assessed and sampled.
